After three months of floor to ceiling renovation of this eclectic space (formerly a dry cleaning shop), salon owner James Carducci introduced neighbors to a brand new approach to hair care in May of 2003. James brings his unique mix of talent, warmth, and vision as Gel’s lead designer. Now a multi-faceted stylist with over 15 years of experience, James laid the foundation for his career with mentorships under two renowned international stylists.

Friendly and caring with a keen eye for what services and styling techniques will work best for you, James has a gift for making each client feel like an old friend. The result is a look that complements your face shape, your hair’s natural texture, and your personality. James also specializes in custom hair replacement systems, and can help you achieve a new attitude and personal confidence at a reasonable cost.

Ready to go downtown? No matter what city we’re talkin’ call Aimee Brown first. Thanks to a ton of talent and frequent trips to the Big Apple, including doing hair for an MTV photo shoot, she’s totally in a league of her own. At the Vancouver Film School, Aimee’s laid the foundation for becoming an extremely gifted makeup artist. Consider her for truly professional wedding hair and makeup. In fact, Aimee can take care of your entire bridal party. Please book well in advance for the salon or for her to can come to your location—you don’t want the wrong “do” on your big day. For looking great any time, Aimee can do it all: chunky, spiky, and sexy right out of bed. Or she can just give you a nice trim.

Wendy Andrews
Master Designer

Literally born to do hair, Wendy learned about the profession from her grandmother, who owned a salon outside of Buffalo. So it’s not too surprising that by the time she was in Jr. High, Wendy was earning extra money by doing her friends’ hair. The family influence continued with Wendy’s brother-in-law—he’s Worldwide President (among other titles) at Toni & Guy, the London-based company that owns such brands as Bed Head and TIGI. For Wendy, that meant being on the Toni and Guy team at NYC hair shows and getting a first-class professional education. She brought these enviable skills and experience to many of Rochester’s upscale salons starting in 1999 and has continued to build on them.

These days, Wendy has an appreciation for a good classic precision cut as well as current hair, beauty, and wellness trends. In fact, she now offers therapeutic scalp massages which can be customized to your particular needs. If your scalp needs help for a condition like dandruff or your hair needs extra nourishment, give this additional service a try.
